Pioneer Hi-Bred Australia will be demonstrating the latest in summer cropping technology at their research complex at Wyreema near Toowoomba from Monday February 5 to Friday February 9, 2007.
According to Craig Choice, the Pioneer Technology Show will include corn, grain sorghum and forage sorghum demonstrations.
Mr Choice, who is Pioneer’s product manager for corn and sorghum, said there will something to interest everyone involved in summer crop production.
“We’ve spent a lot of time and effort making sure this show can assist growers to make good decisions about which summer crops and hybrids to plant and to demonstrate how growers can get the best out these crops.”
Mr Choice said some of the attractions included ethanol, silage and row spacing trials.
“People will also be able to view Pioneer’s latest range of corn, grain sorghum and forage sorghum hybrids as well as plant breeding, seed production and historical hybrid demonstrations,” he said.
“Vanderfield will have machinery on display and BayerCrop Science and Syngenta will be discussing seed treatment options.”
Mr Choice said there will be two tours on each day (from Monday to Friday) of the Pioneer Technology Show.
“The first tour will start at 9.00 am and the afternoon tour will starts at 2.00 pm. Admission is free and lunch will also be provided free of charge for everyone attending the show.”
Mr Choice said country singer Kelly Brooks will be performing during lunch on Tuesday February 6 and Wednesday February 7.
“Kelly recently performed at the Country Music Festival in Tamworth and is also known to many growers as the ‘face of Pioneer’,” he said.
Mr Choice said, “We are hopeful that a large proportion of summer crop industries’ personnel will attend the show and we are confident that they will all get something worthwhile out of it.”
